Welcome to Three Word Thursday #50. Please join us in our weekly romp as we try to rescue lost and forgotten words from the dusty halls of antiquity. If you enjoy reading the stories, leave a comment then Link back to Quilly’s Page and click on the names of the other players and go see how they used these bygone words. You’ll be entertained (and possibly educated) all at once.
This Weeks Words:
- acersecomic, n. — someone whose hair has never been cut
- uberate, v. — make plentiful or nourish
- snilch, v. — to eye someone or something
So, because I seem to be experiencing lack of a need to write out a story I am supplying you will a few shorts. Hope you all enjoy!
The man was wondering how he could uberate his wife’s thinning hair when he happened to notice the acersecomic walk by. He eased closer so he could get a better snilch, wondering how he was going to filch the pelt from that lovely froth.
The acersecomic needed to uberate and set out to snilch some proper ingredients.
I am not an acersecomic. I have nothing that will uberate your wife’s balding head and if you don’t find some other place to snilch, I will be forced to have Brutus the smithy take you out back and beat what little sense there is out of you.
The pirate gazed over the market place looking to snilch and acersecomic. His need to uberate his cabin with another such soul was soon to be realized…
Now for PAD #8
Robert from Poetic Asides is hosting his annual poem a day(PAD) for the month of April.
For today’s prompt, pick a tool, make that the title of your poem, and write your poem. There are the more obvious tools, of course: hammer, screwdriver, wrench, etc. But there also less obvious tools and/or specialized tools available as well. Before attacking this poem, you may want to just think about the various possibilities first. Or just write.
Sledge Hammer
It will take a large one to get the job done
one mighty blow
and all will be done
no hemming or hawwing
no tapping asunder
done
as in one word
never to dwell
on a less then perfect job
and for my second attempt:
Sledge Hammer
The force is strong
and strength is needed
to lift and handle
this wondrous weapon
It needs balance and skill
to settle the nail
but knowledge and know how
to box the kill
it’s duality, its power
of which legends are made
will sit idly by
until the day
someone dares
to take the mantle
and grab that handle
You Are Earth
You are a patient, reliable, and solid person. You tend to be a strong influence and stabilizing force in people’s lives.
While you are quite serious, you are thoughtful in all ways. You tend to be a big dreamer, and you can be very laid back.
You prefer to observe and stay in the shadows. You don’t crave the limelight. You only seek your own approval.
While you don’t like to show off, you should let yourself be the center of attention every now and than. You have what it takes to shine.
Thanks to Thom for the old age feeling today. As if I didn’t have enough gray hairs. Want to know what I’m talking about click Thom‘s name and read.
I love your shorts. Very well done. “filch the pelt from that lovely froth.” LOL I love that line. And the picture so goes with it. Well done on the poems and thanks for the shout out. Yeah we all had that old age feeling today. I gotta remember that kind of thing 🙂
